About

The men at DCC are committed to leading their families to walk closer with God and to living out a Biblical life. Doing so takes courage, boldness, strength, and dedication, especially in today’s world where so many are against God and His Word.

In order to stay sharp and armed for spiritual battle, our men come together each Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. to pray and to study the Scriptures in order to learn what it means to be a Godly husband, a Godly father, and a Godly man.

This is a place where men desire to be strong in their faith and live out that faith on the spiritual battlefield.

SALT: Studying and Learning (God’s) Truth

Meeting Time

Wednesdays at 7:30 pm in the Worship Center

About

We meet on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30pm. Our class is digging deeply into the Bible book by book –seeing how it is connected and that it is all pointing towards Christ.

We strive to instill in our kids:

  • The desire to be in God’s word daily.
  • The desire to understand the text, including background and setting and how it can affect interpretation of the text.
  • The desire and ability to answer questions they may have about the text by referencing the current book of study or other books of the Bible.
  • The confidence of knowing and understanding God’s truth through His word.

It is our desire to give our kids a firm foundation of truth in God’s word to carry with them throughout their lives.

Psalm 25:5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day.

King’s Kids

Meeting Time

Sundays at 10am in the Community Center

About

At King’s Kids, our community group for ages 4-7, children are excited to learn who God is, using lessons featuring the Gospel Project for Children.

While the lessons are also Holy Spirit led, the curriculum of the Gospel Project is designed to study the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation in three years!

Our main goals include laying a foundation for spiritual growth and understanding of Biblical truths about our awesome God, fallen man, sin, redemption, and God’s wonderful plan of salvation (saving grace) through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We strive for spiritual growth at King’s Kids by reading God’s Word to the children, praying together, memorizing Scripture, singing praises, creating Bible-related arts and crafts, playing Bible-related games, and doing age-appropriate acts of service.

Parents are welcome to attend with their child, and parental feedback is encouraged, as together we share the joy of “train[ing] up a child in the way he should go…” (Proverbs 22:6)

B-Attitudes

Meeting Time

Sundays at 10am in the Community Center

About

Our B-Attitudes group for kids ages 8-12 continues to challenge our children to begin living out what they learn from God’s Word. They are moving through Metamorphosis by LifeWay Press®.  The study is described on www.lifeway.com: “As a caterpillar is transformed into a butterfly, we too are remade through salvation. This truth is oftentimes taken for granted, but it is foundational to appreciating God’s salvation and His power…

  • Students will better understand the depth of God’s love for them
  • Students will understand the extent of the transformation that has taken place in their lives through God’s salvation and power
  • Students will be challenged to live out the implications of this transformation that has taken place in their lives.”

Once finished with Metamorphosis, the class will study Acts chapter nine, the story of the apostle Paul’s conversion and one of the greatest examples the Bible gives us of what a transformed life in Christ as a believer should look like.  The goal is to take what we’ve learned through Metamorphosis and see how it looks in the life of a transformed believer, building a solid foundation from the Bible of what the faith God calls us to as a disciple should look like.

After studying Acts 9, the class will continue to study discipleship using the following studies from Lifeway’s Disciples Path series:

  • The Way: A walk through the Gospels by following the journey of Jesus and the first disciples
  • The Call: Gaining a deeper understanding of what it means to follow Christ in everyday life.
  • The Truth: A dive into doctrinal truths of biblical discipleship.
  • The Life: A deeper look at the essential disciplines and practices of following Christ.
  • The Mission: Get equipped for God’s mission and discover your role in joining Him in the world.

Teen BLAST (Bible Learning and Spiritual Training) Meeting Time

Sundays at 10am in the Community Center

About

The teens’ class is our final opportunity as a church to teach our kids God’s word and plant them on a solid foundation, before they become adults in this very challenging and dynamic world.

We encourage our teens to find their place in the church and take on active roles within it.

Additionally we strive to arm them with all they will need to face great opposition from this world.  The group is currently studying verse by verse through the Book of James.

Each weekly lesson leads our youth through an in-depth Bible study with an emphasis on how all the Scriptures tie together to point to Jesus.

It is our goal that each member be transformed by the truth of the God’s Word and grow confident in sharing that Gospel to others through community outreach and evangelism.

  • Every Sunday, our Teen BLAST group meets for a time of Bible teaching, focused study, and prayer.

  • Monthly Teen BLAST members take part in witnessing, evangelizing, and discipleship activities.

  • Once every other month, in addition to our regular church studies, our Teen BLAST group gathers for a time of fellowship, engaging in events such as bowling, laser tag, and movie nights.

  • Annually participates in opportunities to put faith into action through service projects, missions work, and evangelizing outreach events.
